Zululand
Safari Lodge, situated in the heart of Zululand, is only a 2 hour
northbound drive from Durban, and is perfect for families and conference
groups. This traditional African self-catering reserve with its dining
boma and 24 thatched rondavels looks up at the sweep of Ubizane Mountain.
The 1500 hectare Ubizane Game Reserve, which is adjacent to the world
renowned Hluhluwe and Umfolozi Game Reserve, boasts over 350 species of
bird life as well as a variety of game including rhino, giraffe,
wildebeest and many antelope species.

Zululand
Safari Lodge has 18 African Style Rondavels, sleep approximately 72
people: 10 Self catering Family units. 7 Safari Twin Chalets. 1 Two
bedroom Chalet.
The chalets can accommodate a maximum of 2 Adults and 2 children under
the age of 12 years. All chalets have ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms
and are serviced daily by housekeeping.
Daily
excursions into Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserves offer guests the
opportunity of viewing a wide assortment of African wildlife including
the BIG-5 whilst more intimate safaris in game vehicles, on foot or on
horseback are offered in the Ubizane Reserve itself. The guides will
intrigue you with the habits of different spiders, how the indigenous
people use different plants and identify birds by their calls. Game
viewing in open game viewing vehicles is usually reserved for the
early mornings and late afternoons when the animals become more active
after sheltering in the shade of the bush during the heat of the day.
Those looking to get really close to nature can embark on foot with a
trained game ranger to see the wonders of the African bush close up.
The foot safaris are ideal for all and give guests the opportunity of
truly experiencing the African bush. For novice and experienced
horseman the horseback safaris add a whole new dimension to game
viewing. The wildlife seem totally at ease with the horses and guests
have an opportunity of getting close up to the game.
