Set
on the southern most ridge of the Lebombo Mountains, this stone and
thatch lodge combines modern comfort in unspoilt bush surroundings.
Cool lounges, wide verandahs, sparkling pools, and even a tennis
court, makes being in camp a relaxing experience. Our well-stocked
bar, with comprehensive South African wine lists, provides a venue for
discussions after an exciting, full day in the bush.
All 50 rooms have en-suite shower and bath. Provided in rooms are
coffee/tea making facilities, hairdryer, wall safe and direct dial
telephones. Rooms serviced twice daily. Meals are served on the
terrace, with views over magnificent scenery, or in the cool, shaded
interior of the lodge dining room.
In
addition to the abundant plains game (Giraffe, Zebra, Nyala, Kudu,
etc.) the reserve has Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, and Leopard with
Cheetah having been recently reintroduced into the reserve. Game
drives are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles by experienced rangers,
continuing after "sundowners" into the evening. Game viewing
by spotlight after dark offers the chance of seeing unusual nocturnal
species. Rangers co-ordinate their guests' program: conducting walks,
Elephant tracking trails and other activities. Guests can seek out the
unexpected on day or night game drives in an open landrover, follow in
the footprints of the elephants along ancient riverbeds during guided
walks, enjoy the thrill of close encounters of the wild kind on
horseback, or relax with a sundowner on the Mzinene River Boat Cruise
whilst the feathered inhabitants of the dense vegetation along the
river sing their accompaniment to the sinking of the sun.
