Woodlands Country Cottages - Accommodation in Kenton-on-Sea, Eastern Cape. Hidden amidst the woodland surrounds of Bev and David’s twelve-acre garden are five brick or wood cottages, isolated, peaceful and brimming with rustic charm. Each has a private deck and braai area, a double wooden hammock swaying enticingly under the trees and its own secret section of the garden, a private haven of indigenous bush, diverse plantlife, expanses of lawn and a wealth of bird life.

You can even bird-watch from your private, outside (but enclosed) boma bath; or many like to light candles and soak at night under the stars. The cottages are all kitted-up for self-catering, but Bev’s breakfasts are a fully-recommended treat: not only a tempting medley of quiches, omelettes, muffins and pancakes eaten in the garden room, on picnic benches, or anywhere anyhow in the garden; but also an opportunity to meet Bev and David who are charming and unpretentious hosts, and passionate about the Eastern Cape.

Unspoiled beaches and game reserves are a ten-minute drive, golf is a chip and a putt away, but shade, verdant surroundings and solace are to be found at Woodlands. Last but not least, David is a self-proclaimed cribbage champion and the on-site pub is the perfect location in which to try and win a free night or two off him. For game spotters, the Big Five are not far off, as magnificent game reserves abound within a few minutes drive from Woodlands or an ideal day trip from Woodlands.
