Wild Olive Farm - Accommodation
near Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa
Do
you want to escape the crowds and just get away from it all? We offer
spotlessly clean self-catering cottages and a camping site, all with
spectacular views of the Witzenberg mountain range. The silence, peace
and tranquillity will leave you feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated.
The two farm dams offer swimming, canoeing and fishing for carp, bream,
bass as well as fly fishing for plump rainbow trout. Why not take a
stroll or cycle to the dams and pause to watch the birds and wild ducks
or try to spot one of the rare Geometric tortoises which are endemic to
this region. Later enjoy a sundowner and the spectacular sunsets across
the Tulbagh valley.

We
have six cottages in total, three of which are gas powered as well as our
three new Cape Dutch cottages, all which have electricity. All our
cottages are fully furnished and equipped with everything necessary to
ensure a comfortable stay including duvets, towels, cutlery, crockery,
jetmaster fireplaces and private braai facilities. All you need to bring
along is food and drink. We even provide a welcome pack of fresh eggs
from our free range chickens as well as fresh milk and firewood. Tea,
coffee and sugar is also provided.
Apart
from fishing, swimming, canoeing, walking, cycling, bird watching or
just relaxing on our farm, we can also offer our guests personal tours
of our brand new wine and Extra Virgin Olive oil making facility. The
town of Tulbagh itself offers excellent restaurants, numerous wine
cellars, olive estates, museums and several arts & crafts shops.
Historical Church Street is definitely worth a visit as it boasts more
historical Cape Dutch monuments in one street than anywhere else in
South Africa. For the more adventurous, hiking trails, mountain
biking, horse riding, 4x4 trails and golf are all available within 20
minutes drive of the farm.
