Situated
at the foot of the majestic Magliesberg range, the Wigwam offers a
complete change of climate and a refreshing break. The Wigwam Hotel
has been the popular destination of Highveld holiday makers for over
50 years. Excellent service and value for money are the hallmark of
our success. Situated only 113 km from Johannesburg and 80 km west of
Pretoria, the Wigwam is also en route to Sun City. The hotel is set on
a prime 113 ha estate on the Magaliesberg slopes, at an altitude of 1
200 m. Visitors are attracted to its unique and sheltered postion
which ensures moderate winters and perfect summer days. Craggy
heights, crystal clear streams, indigenous flora and fauna and
exciting birdlife ensure a holiday with a difference. Guests can also
enjoy a myriad sporting and recreational facilities on the premises.

The
unique and attractive styled units are mainly family units as they can
accommodate 2 adults downstairs and 3 children upstairs. This is a main
attraction as they are Disney like features which creates a fantasy world
to the children. Currently there are 7 Wigwam units on site. All have the
standard facilities e.g.: Television, air-conditioning etc...The hotel
offers 90 rooms, all with bath, radio and telephone while some are
air-conditioned, TV and Bop TV throughout. In total over 200 guests can
be accommodated in up to five types of accommodation including unique and
attractive Wigwam style units.
There
are 12 additional meeting rooms. All are fully equipped with
audio-visual aids, flip charts, blackboards, easels, overhead/slide
projectors, public address systems and TV equipment. Rates are
inclusive. For those looking for sporting and recreational activities,
the Wigwam is in a class of its own with four tennis courts, 1
floodlit a squash court, a nine-hole golf course and two filtered
swimming pool. Weddings, 21st, anniversaries, etc.. is one of the
wigwams specialties . The venue caters for approximately 170 person in
an airy environment with a high-tech sounds system, 2 bars, disco
lighting and a professional wooden dance floor. Should there be an
outside occasion such as a typical South African braai under thatch,
accommodating approximately 60 people. The sun deck venue also
accommodates approximately 40 people with spitt braai facilities.
Mountaineering: With in 2 minute walk "THE WIGWAM" rises the
magnificent Magaliesberg Mountain and Range to its greatest heights of
1 829m. A paradise for mountaineers and unsurpassed in beauty. Nowhere
else in the district are the mountains as inviting and interesting
with their rugged contours, waterfalls at Giants Kloof, Mermaids
Pool and the historic Retief Kloof, nestling at the foot of the
magnificent Magaliesberg mountain Range.
