Waterkloof Guest House - Accommodation in Witsand, Western Cape is situated in the Heidelberg district a few minutes from the fishing and holiday town of Witsand. The farm has been in the Uys family for 7 generations and the house contains various family heirlooms from bygone years. The secluded garden is ideal for you to wonder through or relax next to the pool. The garden attracts a number of bird species and in fact more than fifty different species have been counted.

The home boasts four bedrooms all with en suite facilities, tea tray and the rooms are all serviced and contain private entrances. The Uys are renown for their hospitality and good South African food. Breakfasts are large and wholesome including fresh farm produce and for the adventurous you can even indulge in ostrich eggs. Dinner is also available upon request.

Farming activities include 3000 ostriches, Merino sheep and wheat. Guests are invited to join the owners on a farm tour when ever they feel like it. Ostrich leather products are on sale. While travelling on the farm you will often see Blue Crane Birds (South Africa’s National Bird) numerous Springbok and Grysbok, Duikers, Steenbok and Vaal Reebok. Various rare and uncommon birds are also seen on the farm. Attractions in the surrounding area include De Hoop Nature Reserve, Pont at Malgas. Witsand with whale watching, fishing, bird-watching and swimming. An hour trip to the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve in the Langeberg Mountains. A halfhour trip to the historical town of Swellendam
