Toadbury Hall Country House - Accommodation in
Elandsdrift, Gauteng, South Africa
This
stately country hotel and conference centre is set in lush English
gardens with rolling lawns and landscaped beds of tulips, roses and
lavender under majestic elm trees. Inspired by the whimsical tales of
The Wind in the Willows, the thatched buildings of Toadbury Hall
overlook the Crocodile River, where guests can picnic or amble through
the willows alongside the crystal clear waters. The hotel was once the
main home on this tranquil seventy-acre farm, and the gracious rooms
have been extensively refurbished with top quality finishes and a
perfectionist's attention to detail. The entire hotel has underfloor
heating, and each room has its own mini-bar and television set with
satellite programming.

This fine 5-star establishment has ten elegant rooms, including two Executive suites, one Presidential suite, two Garden suites and five DeLuxe rooms. Our Executive Chef and his talented team serve the finest cuisine from a most tantalising menu in our comfortable restaurant.
Garden weddings under the towering trees are extremely popular,
and Toadbury Hall has a fully enclosed chapel which seats eighty
people in its wooden pews.
The
spacious conference room-banqueting hall seats 140 delegates
cinema-style, and 140 guests for a banquet. The large outside terrace
offers a pleasant area for pre-dinner drinks or open-air conference
lunches, while the location of the cloakrooms within the complex ensures
the utmost convenience and comfort for guests and delegates. A bar-area
adjacent to the main hall adds to the self-contained facilities, which
include a full kitchen, under-floor heating and two elegant fireplaces
which can be lit if required. Toadbury Hall is the perfect getaway for
stressed city-dwellers and those in need of some pampering and gracious
country living. Situated in the Kromdraai Conservancy, a mere 25 minutes
from Sandton and Pretoria, Toadbury Hall offers a host of interesting
activities close by for those energetic enough, including hot-air
ballooning over the Magaliesberg, trips to the Old Kromdraai Gold Mine
and the spectacular Wonder Cave, trout-fishing, the Rhino and Lion Nature
Reserve, the world-famous Sterkfontein Caves, horseback game viewing,
craft villages and a selection of international cuisine at award-winning
restaurants. For those who simply need to relax, there are country walks,
bass-fishing, and tennis available within the grounds of Toadbury Hall.
