This quaint coastal town can be found midway between Port Elizabeth and East London in the malaria free Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The guest house is high on the east bank of the Kowie River which runs through Port Alfred and overlooks the peaceful marina. We are two minutes` drive from the centre of town where you have access to all modern amenities, and one minutes’ drive from the nearest beach.

The Royal Guest House - Accommodation in Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, South AfricaWe have seven luxury rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, airconditioning, 8 channels of DSTV, a mini bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, telephone and hair dryer. All are fitted with double beds and two of the rooms have modern, comfortable sleeper couches as well. The addition of a pair of bunk beds makes one of these into a very user friendly family room sleeping six. The cosy lounge has a bar, television, recliner chair and plush lounge suite overlooking the marina. We also have a large log fire should the evenings turn chilly.

Amanda and Hugo will try to organise any special requests if at all possible. So feel free to contact them and make any arrangements to make your visit special. Game Viewing, The beach, Canoe Trails, Fishing or just relaxing ! Port Alfred was started as a harbour to service the military Garrison in Grahamstown in the early 1820s and has lost none of it’s historical charm. The beaches are almost deserted and the main beach is striving for Blue Flag recognition.
