The self-catering bungalow on the edge of the kloof sleeps up to 6 people, it is open plan
with 2 double beds and 2 single beds. The bungalow has a fully equipped kitchen and all
bedding is supplied. It is completely private, with a romantic ambience enhanced by the
fact that there is no electricity only candles and paraffin lamps. However there is gas
for cooking a gas fridge and hot water. Imagine taking a bath in the semi open-air
bathroom while enjoying one of our spectacular sunsets. The self-catering cottage (which does have electricity) in the courtyard, detached from the
main house and completely private has a 4-poster double bed and sleeps 2 people. A sitting
room, with fully equipped kitchen and wood burning stove for our cold winter highveld
nights, opens onto a private patio with a magnificent view. The Bed
and Breakfast suite is in the main house and has a magnificent view over the valley and
mountains. The entire property is surrounded with a security fence.
They
are a part of the World Heritage Site known as the Cradle of Humankind which has been described as the anthropological treasure house of the
world. This is where it all started and where you can experience some of the wonders of
the heritage from the Sterkfontein Caves and the home of Mrs. Ples to nature reserves and
bird watching. There are wonderful walks, horse trails, a Human Origins Tour, crafts and
arts to be explored on the Crocodile Ramble. And for those who just want to relax and
unwind a host of superb restaurants.
