Its situation on the Highveld at an altitude of 1600m makes this area malaria free. The climate varies from hot summer days with afternoon rain showers to warm winter days and cold nights. The farm is mostly below the mist belt in winter. Water usage is from a borehole and is safe to drink. Stonecutters is an ideal stopover for the Kruger National Park and many private game lodges in the Mpumalanga and Limpopo Provinces.
