On the banks of the Duiwenhoks River on the Southern Coast of South Africa, lies a sleepy little hamlet called Vermaaklikheid. A special hideaway untouched by time and progress. They offer three beautiful, fully equipped, self-catering cottages on the river, for nature lovers and adventurers. "Glory Be" - Sleeps 12 -
access to this delightful cottage, right on the water's edge, is by row boat only, making it a perfect hideaway haven for groups and families. Sleeping accommodation consists of 4 double bedrooms, one in a tented garden hut , 'the Duiwenhokkie' and a four bedded room. There is an open plan living/kitchen/dining room with a large fireplace. The outside braai area overlooks magnificent river views. The ablution facilities are separate and shared. The cottage is fully electrified with a gas stove. Guests have the use of a canoe and row boat, onto which you may attach your own outboard motor, if you wish.

"Backtrack" - Sleeps 6 - this charming cottage is situated in farmlands 300m from the river, surrounded by tall blonde reeds, with a clear shallow pond where birds come to drink. Private river frontage includes your own exclusive jetty for swimming, fishing, and canoeing - canoe provided. Accommodation consists of two twin bedded en-suite bedrooms and one twin bedded tented garden hut, 'the Duiwenhokkie'. There is an open plan living/kitchen/dining room with a log fire, as well as an outside entertainment area and braai. The cottage is fully electrified and has a gas stove.
