Table
Mountain, with the two mountains which flank it, Lion’s Head and
Devil’s Peak, offers spectacular views to the North over the bay, and
to the South, down The Twelve Apostles – a spiny ridge which leads to
Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. A cable car takes visitors up
the mountain.The route to Cape Point, where the
Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet, gives the visitor endless
opportunities to visit beaches, lighthouses, animal and bird
sanctuaries and to drive along some of the world’s most spectacular
scenery, including the well-known Chapman’s Peak.
Once
Cape Muslim slave-quarters, De Waterkant’s brightly-coloured, cobbled
hill-side streets are amongst the most cosmopolitan in Cape Town. Visitors
can browse through the many upmarket stores in the village, explore
the Sunday craft market, hike the many mountain trails available. Redbourne
Hilldrop is within walking distance of the famous Victoria and Alfred
Waterfront, a wide variety of restaurants, and Cape Town's City
centre.
