Pezulu Tree House Lodge - Accommodation in
Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province, South Africa
Pezulu Tree House Lodge
the accommodation in
Hoedspruit is a small exclusive Tree
House Game Lodge, situated in the game rich area of the Limpopo
Province of South Africa, only forty minutes from the Open Gate of the
Kruger National Park. Six different reed-and-thatch
constructions spread among the trees surrounding the central
building, which is itself entwined around a large amarula. They
are all hidden from view behind branch and leaf, and many have
bits of tree growing up through the floor to provide the most
natural of towel rails, stools and loo paper holders. The ‘houses’
are named after the trees in which they sit: ‘False Thorn’ has a
magnificent shower with views over the Thornybush Reserve – be
prepared for inquisitive giraffe; while ‘Huilboerboom’ is a
honeymoon suite set eight metres above ground (privacy even from
the giraffe).

Gilly’s
husband West conjured Pezulu out of the Guernsey Conservancy on the
edge of the Kruger Park. There are no predators in this area, only
plains game, so you and the buck can wander around the property in
perfect safety. Activities on offer include the usual two game drives
a day and/or guided hikes. They can also arrange microlight flights
and visits to rehabilitation centres and the white lion breeding
project... assuming they can persuade you down from the trees.
Open
vehicle game drives as well as bush walks can be enjoyed daily. Day
visits to Kruger National Park and scenic drives via the Panorama
Route are also available.
Other interesting activities include trips to
the Cheetah Breeding Project, The White Lions of the Timbavati and
Moholoholo Bird and Animal Rehabilitation Centre. White water river
rafting as well as ferry cruises on the Blyde river can be arranged.
Our game safaris from a microlight aeroplane is the ultimate
game viewing experience! Pezulu is a paradise for birders all year
round.
