For the less energetic fuel the soul by taking an early morning stroll in the veld or simply put your feet up and relax under a pepper tree with a good book. For the adventurous there are safari trips up the breathtaking Swartberg pass and down to Die Hel. Night drives amongst the foothills or biking along the high mountain trails provide unforgettable experiences. Horse riding nearby. There are a handful of restaurants in the village, each offering their own blend of simple country fare and delicious cuisine. The sunsets are magnificent and the Karoo night sky will show you more star than you've ever seen.

Situated on the southernmost threshold of the Great Karoo, and just 2 kms from the foot of the awe-inspiring Swartberg Pass, Prince Albert is the perfect base for exploring all the wonders of the Swartberg mountains. Visitors come from all over the world to drive the pass, to explore the exquisite remote valley of Gamkaskloof (The Hell) and visit Meiringspoort, a majestic gorge characterised by soaring rockfaces, fascinating plants, and clear falls of mountain water.
