Numbela Exclusive Riverside - Accommodation in
White River, Mpumalanga, South Africa
Numbela
Exclusive Riverside - Accommodation in White River, Mpumalanga is small, but beautifully formed.
Each cottage is fully detached, self contained and private. The cottages
and the owner's house are contained within 7 acres of garden alongside
the river. Beyond the garden, the rest of the property, some 200 acres of
wetlands, woodland and bush, much of it alongside the river, is available
for exploration. Both cottages are available for either Bed and Breakfast
or self-catering accommodation. They don't serve dinner (although if you
are arriving late, let them know and they will prepare a light meal for
you), but each cottage is fully equipped for you to prepare your own
meals or there are a number of good restaurants in the area which they
can book on your behalf.

Breakfast
is served in your cottage at a time to suit yourselves between 7.30 to
10.00. If you need a particularly early start, please let them know.
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be found in the kitchen;
fresh milk and butter and mineral water will be in the fridge.
Complimentary gin, whisky and cane spirit will be found in the dresser; a
selection of mixers are in the fridge. Please leave what remains in each
bottle for the next guests. You can either swim in the river or in the
small round pool near the gate. Swimming in either place is at your own
risk. Please be particularly careful when swimming in the river, as the
rocks can be slippery. There is a boma near where they usually swim in
the river where it is nice to sit. They also have horses.
You
are free to walk around the property. There are 90 hectares to explore,
much of it by the river. Please ask us for details and directions. Again,
walking is at your own risk, particularly on the farm, where land may not
have been prepared for walking. There are snakes here - it's best to wear
stout boots and carry a stick. If you want more information on this,
please ask. You are welcome to take the field guides provided with
you, or any other book for that matter, but please return these to the
cottage in good condition for the next guests.
You are 20 minutes by car from the nearest
Kruger Park gate, allowing easy day excursions for game viewing. Equally,
you are within easy reach of the main attractions of the Lowveld: Blyde
River Canyon; Pilgrims Rest, the beautiful waterfalls around Sabie and
the spectacular Sudwala caves.
