family owned and operated country hotel offering relaxation, superb
comforts and personal service. It is situated at the foot of the
beautiful Drakensberg Mountains, a World Heritage Site, just 2km from the
village of Himeville, with tarred accesses. Moorcroft Manor has eight
classically decorated bedrooms including four suites.

Pure
cotton linen, down duvets and mohair rugs are standard in all rooms. Each
eight rooms have their own private patios with un-interrupted views of
Hodgsons Peaks over our own private dam. The executive suite has its own
private garden and atrium, along with king size bed and bath - the
perfect setting for your honeymoon! The Moorcroft Manor restaurant is
open for breakfast and lunch and an a la carte dinner dinner is served
every evening. Enjoy a pre-lunch or diner aperitif on our cocktail
lounge. Our formal lounge is reserved for our guests and here you will
find a roaring fire, and array of books and a card table. Treat yourself
to a cream tea or light lunch on the terrace while taking in the splendid
views of mountains, lake and farmland.
The
private dam is well-stocked with trout and bass. Enjoy fly-fishing on a
catch and return basis or savour your catch cooked to perfection by the
chefs. Soak up the sun at the rock pool , watch the birdlife or relax
with a book. There are countless fantastic hiking opportunities, since
Moorcroft is so close to the World Heritage Site uKhahlamba Drakensberg
Park. The Underberg / Himeville area offers bushmen painting tours
abseiling, paragliding, pony trails, mountain biking, river tubing, game
drives, hunting and wing-shooting. Sani Pass is the major
attraction of this district and Moorcroft is optimally positioned
directly on the main route to the pass. We will reserve your seats for a
guided drive up the mighty mountain. Tours depart daily (please be
reminded that a valid South African Passport is needed.) Organised tours
also take you on a discovery of the world of the lost bushmen and their
rock art. Golfers will enjoy a selection of three legendary courses, each
with breath-taking views. The Himeville Tennis Club is a mere five
minutes away, and squash courts are also nearby. Trout Fishing is
available on the own dam or on any club waters in the area.
