appointed private chalets are located along the ridge overlooking the
waterhole and adjacent plains with the Waterberg Mountains in the
distance. A maximum of 10 guests may stay at Mhondoro Game Lodge ,
ensuring personal attention and care from your hosts at all times. The
paths to the main lodge and between chalets offer tantalizing glimpses of
the waterhole situated just in front of Mhondoro Game Lodge . The main
lodge has a large viewing sundeck where guests are welcome to hide away
the time. The crystal clear swimming pool is blessedly cool and inviting
on hot summer days under the African sun.

Each
Mhondoro Lodge chalet has its own elegant sense of style and décor,
designed to make you feel pampered, spoiled and special. Large double
sliding doors exit onto your private viewing sundeck where you can relax
and watch Africa pass by below you. Mhondoro Game Lodge's central dining
room, bar, outdoor boma (grass hut) and gym are all situated in or around
the main lodge and are easily accessible from the chalets. A nearby
chalet houses a well stocked library and entertainment centre that also
serves as an exclusive venue for small corporate retreats. Guest can enjoy
morning and afternoon game drive activities to view Welgevonden Private
Game Reserve's abundant wildlife.
Welgevonden
Game Reserve supports 75 species of animals, including the Big Five
(Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino) and over 350 species of
birds. It boasts an amazing variety of antelope from the dainty
Klipspringer to the mighty Eland and is home to the largest private
population of White Rhino in the world. Game viewing is done in
specially designed open vehicles equipped with elevated seating and
adequate protection from the elements. Foot tracking is also available
for those wishing to experience a more intimate relationship with the
bush and its fauna. Driving through the reserve in a 4x4 wheel drive
game viewing vehicle, after your arrival at the main gate, you will be
treated to your first sighting of Welgevonden Game Reserve's permanent
residents: Impala, Warthog, Giraffe, Rhino, Kudu, Eland, Elephant and
many others.
