Melrose Place Guest Lodge - Accommodation in Melrose, Johannesburg, Gauteng

Once ensconced behind the electric gates at Melrose Place Guest Lodge near Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province you have entered an Eden-in-the-city. The verandah overlooks a large flower garden and enormous swimming pool, all shaded by trees. Eight new rooms don’t crowd it at all. It is such a pleasant environment that you may find yourself shelving projected tasks for a day’s lounging about. The high levels of luxury in all the rooms are not reflected in the rates. Sue is the sweetest of hostesses, quick to smiles and reacting sensitively to the mood and wishes of each guest.

On the night you stay perhaps you have a braai with an amazing array of meat dishes and salads which appeared from nowhere, and Sue’s team will cook dinner for anyone who wants it every evening. Her aim is to maximise the number of happy campers staying. This is her home after all, complete with kids, dachshund and a parrot in its 40s. While guest contentment is running at 100 per cent, it’s difficult to see what else she can do.

Melrose Place offers luxurious en-suite accommodation, centrally situated between Rosebank and Sandton. The wonderful garden, shaded by many trees, adds to the charming setting, and sets off the swimming pool where guests can take time out to relax from the pace of their travels.
Melrose Place is situated a convenient 30 minutes drive from Johannesburg International Airport, and once settled you are minutes away from Rosebank, Sandton City, Gold Reef City, the Wanderers Cricket Grounds, and numerous restaurants, galleries, museums and other places of interest. Sun City is only 2 hours drive or a short flight away. It is are also very close to the Rosebank Clinic and other first class medical facilities.
