Lodge, set in the Natal Midlands, provides the finest accommodation,

luxury hotel. Located some 8kms from the main road, Lythwood Lodge is
set on a 275 acre estate at the end of a most scenic valley.

Each
room has an ensuite bathroom with separate shower and bath (excluding
the wheelchair friendly room, which has a large shower area only), and
is heated either by a wood or gas fire. The furnishings are
manufactured from mahogany wood to an exceptionally high standard and
provide an ambience which is both restful and comfortable. As part of
our normal service: The cotton linen is changed daily and towels twice
daily. Each room has a vase of fresh flowers from the garden, a bowl
of fruit, homemade biscuits and tea and coffee facilities. Each room
has satellite television and a telephone. Self-Catering Cottages: They
consist of two twin bedded, en-suite rooms and a large area that
incorporates a kitchen, dining area and lounge. Leading from the
lounge area is the patio that has magnificent sweeping views of the
countryside.
Lythwood
Lodge boasts a magnificent large lounge brimming with antiques, a well
stocked library, a ballroom with a sprung floor, a baronial dining
room and a P.O.S.H. bar. Moving outside there is a secluded swimming
pool and a charming eating area underneath a large oak tree. Lythwood
Lodge aims to provide the visitor with a fully comprehensive range of
activities: Walks of approximately 3 hours through the
indigenous forest followed by a dip in the pool. The area around
Lythwood offers three different habitats and to date 160 plus species
have been seen. Trout fishing on either the dam or the river. Close to
Lythwood are the many craft shops of the Midlands Meander. For
visitors staying longer various tours can be arranged: Experience the
lifestyle of the local township of Mpophomeni. Day trip to Game Pass
Shelter. Tour of one of the Anglo Boer war battlefields. Guided tour
into Lesotho up Sani Pass.
