Lusthof  Cottage - Accommodation in Constantia, Western Cape, South AfricaThere are many fine restaurants very close to Lusthof in the Constantia area, with a few notables on the beautiful wine estates such as Buitenverwachting, La Colombe, and Constantia Uitsig (all in the top 10 restaurants of South Africa). The popular River Café (which Judy used to own), which serves delectable breakfasts and lunches, is also just up the road, while Peddlars on the Bend, a local pub/restaurant is literally within walking distance from the cottage (reservations and advice on bookings can be made on request). Lusthof is situated in the heart of the Constantia winelands with the Constantia Wine Route right on its doorstep. The historic wine estates of Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting, Constantia Uitsig and Steenberg Vineyards are all in close proximity if wine tasting and buying are an interest.

Today, this modern, cosmopolitan city offers something to everyone and is worth exploring. Any visit to Cape Town must include a trip to Cape Point, the tip of Africa. The Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve (proclaimed in 1939) has recently been included in the new Cape Peninsula National Park, which covers over 22000 hectares. Here you will find a combination of dramatic seascapes and soaring cliffs, antelope such as the rare mountain zebra and bontebok, as well as tremendously varied flora.
