Beaches, there is easy access to both beaches and tidal pools from Lou’s Place. Lou’s Place is situated above Danger Beach within easy walking distance of St James and Dalebrook tidal pools, a mere 15-minute walk along the boardwalk to swim at Muizenberg or a five-minute drive to Fish Hoek.

There are two lovely apartments here and both make the most of the amazing view. The lower one is simple, mainly white, with a kitchenette and a sea view from the main bed. Sit out on your own deck under the leafy hibiscus and roses to watch iridescent flycatchers, sunbirds and, of course, the whales. If upstairs is your go, you’ll be lofting it. The conversion is suave with lime-washed, vaulted ceiling panels and polished floorboards that reflect the light around you. It’s furnished with a few antiques, a smart kitchenette, his and hers marble sinks and a giant bath. Your deck looks out over the pretty fishing village, tidal swimming pool, restaurants, ocean and spectacular mountains either side. Conal kayaks and brings home crayfish.
