Liz
at Lancaster - Accommodation in Craighill Park
near Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province. Liz’s place is an anomaly among South
Africans, having no great interest in rugby, football or cricket, and
this despite being surrounded by a sports-mad family. Liz teaches art
history and post-graduate tourism development at Witwatersrand
University, and is a fascinating person to speak to about South Africa
both past and future… and about Jo’burg. .

She
will point you in all the right directions for a genuine, heartfelt
and hard-to-come-by insight into her home city.
But guests at Liz’s also have plenty of space in which to do
their own thing. The big comfy rooms are either side of the main
house, with their own entrances and parking spaces.
A
separate cottage has its own kitchen and sitting room. They all open
up onto a private patio, where breakfast is generally served, with
potted plants climbing up the walls and plenty of shade. Between them
is a rose-filled garden, while at the front of the house is yet more
green space around the pool. Finally, a mention for the friendly
staff, who have a stake in the venture.
Craighall Park is located in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg
and is central to business and shopping districts of Rosebank, Hyde
Park, Sandton, Randburg, Braamfontein and downtown Johannesburg.
So if your looking for a place where art, beauty and time away are
important then Liz at Lancaster is worth a second look.
