Lion
Sands Private Game Reserve offers accommodation at two exclusive lodges,
each unique with special features. Both lodges are situated on the banks
of the Sabie River, offering magnificent views. Decorated in old African
style, Lion Sands River Lodge offers outstanding accommodation with
en-suite bathrooms, a private viewing deck and a refreshing outside
shower. The lodge has two swimming pools and there is a gym for the
fitness conscious. The pristine location of Lion Sands River Lodge is
excellent for game viewing and guests can also enjoy Tiger fishing.
A
unique element to the Lion Sands/ River Lodge safari experience is in its
programme of activities. Through these activities the guest is offered
the opportunity to interact more closely and learn about the environment,
getting in tune with the pulse of the ancient spirit of Africa, something
so uniquely personal. All the activities have been customised to enhance
& compliment the African safari experience and include the following.
Open Land Rover game drives, early morning bush walks, bird
watching walks with over 350 species endemic to the area, learning the
skills of tracking Africa's largest predator, the Lion, fresh water river
fishing; clay pigeon shooting in an open plain, afternoon lectures by the
team of qualified rangers & ecologist, pamper oneself at the Lalamuka
Health Spa, read a book & relax while game viewing from one of the
hides overlooking the Sabie River, spending time with the river on the
infamous hippopotamus tour, savour some of South Africa's finest wines
during a wine tasting session in the evenings, learn traditional Shangaan
cooking methods just in case you ever have to host a Chief for dinner!,
experience dining in the bush, learn the stars, their practical uses and
myths and legends, walk in the light of the moon and even spend a night
out under the stars.
