Cape offers extremely comfortable accommodation within a stroll of the
city centre. The house itself is a characterful Victorian building which
dates from 1894 and has undergone many changes in its lifespan: .The
Lodge is situated in one of Cape Town's oldest residential suburbs within
a block or two of Kloof Street, the city's "restaurant mile".
It
is ideally situated for guests who want to explore the central city,
visit our amazing Atlantic Beaches and Table Mountain or Lion's Head or
wander around the superb new Victoria & Alfred Waterfront development
and are suitable for delegates to the Cape Town International Convention
Centre.

There are four en-suite bedrooms named after important figures associated
with our history: Kipling, Tolkien, Gandhi, Madiba (i.e. Nelson Mandela).
Each is decorated in an individual, slightly theatrical style and there
is great attention to detail. All rooms are well equipped, with
telephone, TV with M-Net, wall safe, fans, heaters, etc.; some have
air-conditioning. The upstairs rooms have access to a broad terrace with
lovely views of the city and mountains while downstairs they lead out
onto a magical courtyard where breakfast is served in fine weather. The
courtyard has been featured in many photo shoots and has appeared in an
international book on courtyard gardens. There is a mini bar which is run
on an honour system.
On
arrival guests are welcomed with an orientation to the city and
surrounds and given a useful folder with masses of information to help
get them started with their discovery of our city. It is a valuable
end carefully thought out compendium of suggestions for what to do,
where to go, where to eat and shop during their stay. A well-informed
and helpful concierge service is on hand during the day to organise
tours and trips or to guide you to the latest happenings in the city.
