Klaserie Camps - Accommodation in
Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, Limpopo, are part of an exclusive privately owned wildlife
sanctuary, ‘The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve’, which in turn is
part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The reserve lies to the west
of the Timbavati covering 60 000 ha on either side of the Klaserie
River. The private nature of this wilderness sanctuary enables one to
embrace the African bushveld in one's own time - to take in the
sounds, sights and smells that make the bushveld such a unique
experience. The camps, Nzumba Camp, Katara Camp and Timbila Camp, are
located in the north-western sector of the reserve, traversing 8000
hectares with extensive access to the Klaserie River.

Nzumba
Camp, located in a high lying area of the reserve is a traditional
African safari lodge with the thatched central lodge looking south toward
the Mariepskop in the Mpumalanga Drakensberg. The camp accommodates 10
guests in spacious thatched chalets with his and hers bathrooms and wide
verandahs for relaxation during the day. The lounge with its leather
chairs and memorabilia and dining room are evocative of the romantic
colonial era. Katara Camp, located on the banks of the Klaserie River
accommodates 14 guests in beautifully decorated stone thatched chalets.
The central lodge with lounge, bar, pool, boma and viewing deck overlooks
the Klaserie River. Timbila Camp is rustic 2-bed-roomed camp nestled
beneath a canopy of Jackalberry trees along the banks of the Klaserie
River.
Safaris
within this untamed region of the Greater Kruger National Park focus on
the bush and its ecosystems, with the added excitement of getting
involved in the tracking of Africa’s big game. The rangers have taken
great time to develop their safari to ensure that you come away with a
better understanding of this very special environment. Bordering the Timbavati Game Reserve and Kruger National Park,
this reserve is hot and dry for most of the year. The bush is sparse but soon recovers, if
and when summer rains arrive. Game wanders freely over vast areas and you are likely to
see all the usual animals of the African bush like lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and many
antelopes.
