All of the rooms are en-suite, and individually decorated to enhance the 100 year old Victorian building. Each room has it's own telephone, port and muscadel decanters plus tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival you are welcomed into a cool antique filled hall, and then shown to your beautifully appointed room, most of which have a private patio, some of which lead onto the Grecian style swimming pool. There are cool arbours, and sun bathing loungers for those wishing to relax in the Montagu sunshine. 

The secluded garden is filled with Hibiscus, Bougainvillea and other exotic flowers and plants. The Grecian style swimming pool is set in the private garden with mountain views from the raised sun deck. The terraces are cool and shady, with deck chairs and sun loungers for relaxation. The lodge is well known for its sumptuous four course, candle-lit dinners-a veritable feast of the regions finest produce. 

There is plenty to do in the area too. Golfing at any of three excellent golf courses nearby. Sport. E.g. Squash, tennis, rock climbing, fishing, horse riding. The Natural Hot mineral springs situated 2,7 km from the hotel offers outdoor swimming pools fed from a natural spring which provides water at an initial temperature of 43°C. Relax in the pools with its "healing powers". Walking trails for the nature lover varying from 2,4 km to 15,6 km through the beautiful kloof of the surrounding mountains. Montagu tractor and trailer trip to the summit of the Langeberg mountains is a must.
