It offers five elegantly decorated en-suite rooms, all named after the royals involved in the many battles fought in the area. The house itself is a restored Victorian style home. Each room is equipped with a TV, WIFI Internet access and a work station, should you need to catch up on some correspondence. The house also offers a swimming pool and off the street parking.

King and Country Guest House - Accommodation in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal, South AfricaThe Victoria Room is named after Britain’s Queen Victoria, for her reign over British troops during the Anglo-Boer and Anglo-Zulu wars. This room has a queen size bed. The Cetshwayo Room is named after King Cetshwayo, King of the Zulus during the Anglo-Zulu war. This room has twin single beds. The Shaka Room is named after King Shaka, who did not really play a major role in any of the famous battles, but is known as the Zulu King who united the Zulu Nation. This same Zulu Nation went on to suffer the British their greatest ever defeat against a native force. This room has twin three-quarter beds. The Dingane Room is named after King Dingane, who was Zulu King during the Anglo-Boer war and successor to King Shaka. This room has a queen size bed and its own entrance. The Napoleon Room is named after The Prince Imperial Louis Napoleon, who was killed in the area by the Zulu’s while on patrol with British forces.

Battle sites: Isandlwana, Blood River and Rorke’s drift near the town are some of the most famous. At the latter 100 heavily outnumbered men came out victorious over the Zulu after, a 12h battle. Hikes and Trails: The district is blessed with beauty and imbued with history. It is therefore best experienced on one of the many hikes and trails on offer.
