Stone walls, thatch roof and natural wood blend in with the beautiful surroundings. A choice of 3 chalets are available. Shawu: This double-story thatched chalet is nestled among towering jackalberry trees. Shawu has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, three luxurious en-suite rooms and an elevated deck overlooking the river. A private pool shaded by indigenous shrubbery lets you relax and enjoy the African sun, and the lapa with its campfire facilities allows you to spend peaceful evenings enveloped in the nocturnal sounds of the bush. Kambaku: A smaller, one-bedroom luxury suite ideal for he weekend getaway. Kambaku features a private deck overlooking the African bush, an en-suite bathroom and all the amenities needed for a reclusive (or romantic?) retreat.

Shingwedzi: A true taste of African bush-living for the whole family. A private plunge pool with a panoramic view of the river and the mountains lets you laze away the long African days while keeping an eye out for some elephants that might just happen to pass over the river. Upstairs we have a bedroom with a screened Victorian bath, air conditioning and private deck, while downstairs has its own bedroom with en-suite shower. The lounge and kitchen in classic African décor walks out onto the large deck overlooking the river - a perfect location for sundowners or those magnificent early-morning breakfasts.

Indlovu River Lodge is part of the 21 000 acre Edeni game reserve, where the big five roam along with an abundance of antelope, zebra and wildebeest. Experiencing the unique blends of African fauna and flora are done via open Land Rovers. All excursions have to be booked in advance. In close proximity to the lodge, well known tourist attractions like the magnificent God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Pilgrims Rest and Graskop make for a lovely day-trip, and the newly formed Trans-Africa Game Reserve (Kruger park) is a 45 minute drive away.
