Located on the northern end of the Panorama Route, near the Blyde River
Canyon, Iketla is a newly established nature retreat offering a place of
peace, tranquility and total relaxation. It has stunning views of the
surrounding mountains. An open sundeck overlooks the sparkling pool.

Rooms
have been furnished with ultimate comfort in mind: a choice of a queen
sized bed or two twin beds, tea / coffee facilities and a comfortable
reading area. Carefully chosen African décor and accessories gives it a
feeling of serenity and elegance. Unique en-suite bathrooms provide a
stone-built shower, hand-made ceramic basin set in a hardwood slab and a
separate toilet. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor shower with views of
the surrounding mountains - very private and exotic. Cottages have been
built on the edge of a small rise and each offers a secluded
look-out-point. The
patio provides magnificent views of the valley below, mountains, cliffs
and indigenous forests.
Whether
your special interest is geology, stargazing, birding, trees, plant,
insect-life - Iketla is the ideal venue. The hiking and mountain
biking trails are well marked and safe. You are welcome to explore
these on your own or in the company of our guide. Various routes have
been marked and they vary in length from about 30 minutes to a few
hours. Mountain bikes are available at no extra cost. Iketla Lodge is
situated en route to Kruger National Park and Private Reserves, and is
ideal as a base from which to explore the Panorama Route, with its
spectacular Blyde River Canyon, numerous waterfalls, huge potholes,
God’s Window, historical Pilgrim’s Rest, the Echo Caves and the
Museum of Man.
