Idube
Private Game Reserve is home to the "Big Five" being elephant,
rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. There is also an abundance of other game
such as cheetah, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, kudu, zebra and waterbuck.
Over 300 bird species have been recorded on the reserve. Our experienced
and trained rangers and expert Shangaan trackers are on hand to introduce
guests to the wonders of the African bush. Radio contact between
Landrovers ensures that guests are given every opportunity to experience
the best and most unusual game sightings, day or night. Game drives are in
open Landrovers with an experienced ranger and tracker. There are two
game drives daily, lasting about 3 hours each. The early morning drive
starts at sunrise. Birds and animals are in abundance. On the late
afternoon game drive, having had a sundowner in the bush, spot lights are
used to spot predators like lion, leopard, hyenas, civet and other
nocturnal species. The game drives are exciting, often venturing off-road
and offering exceptionally close encounters with game. Photographic
opportunities are outstanding. ldube's rangers are not only knowledgeable
about wildlife, but they have also been specially trained in photography
to help the guest obtain the perfect wildlife photograph.
