The
Grey Goose Farm Lodge, in the Drakensberg foothills, sits on a hill
overlooking the Nguduma Vlei with views of the mountains and the town of
Newcastle. Situated midway between Johannesburg & Durban, the Grey
Goose is an ideal venue for conferences or as a stop over point for the
long trip to and from the coast. Experience peace & tranquility with
geese & peacock roaming around the landscaped gardens and enjoy the
many facilities of Newcastle that is within easy reach. Weddings are our
speciality,we are able to offer a fullpackage to ensure that yourspecial
occasion runs smoothly. The cake, flowers, decor, and music. We also
cater for special occasions, matric farewells, anniversaries, etc.

The
Grey Goose boasts thirty-one en-suite rooms, individually furnished,
and provide every necessary facility to make your stay comfortable and
enjoyable. All rooms consist of either a double- or two single beds
and a TV with SABC 1, 2, 3, MNET, E-tv, MM2 and SS1. All accommodation
rates include a full breakfast served from 6:30am to 10:00am every
morning. Our fully licensed Gooseberries restaurant also caters for
all your meal requirements, dinner and lunch.
We
offer scenic rides on our lovely game farm, stocked with some amazing
large and small game. Trail rides are 1 or 2 hour rides on experienced
and trustworthy horses and ponies, over various terrains.
(We cater for all levels of riding.) We have horses to suit everyone,
including slow ponies for lively youngsters. These rides are
daily as well as on Holidays. Special packages can be arranged
for special days (e.g. Valentines-ride – Enjoy a picnic under lovely
vine tree next to river). With great effort and love for the
beautiful Drakensberg Mountains, we have the developed 40 kms of
hiking trials in the amphitheater of mountains visible, immediately to
the west of the lodge. Indigenous trees have been name-tagged and the
yellow wood forests, mountain pools and waterfalls are a must for any
nature lover or fitness fanatic. We have developed 2 beautiful
mountain cottages, one below and accessible by ordinary car and
one on top of the mountains connected by the 2 day hiking route or by
an exciting 4x4 route.
