Ganora Guest Farm - Accommodation in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. The
charming cottage is situated on the farm approximately 7 km from Nieu-Bethesda
and the famous Owl House. The cottage is self- contained. You can
choose to cater for yourself, have your meals on the farm, or they can
book for you at a cosy Country Restuarant in Nieu-Bethesda. The Khoi-San
cottage is ideal for people seeking an active hospitale stay on a
working sheepfarm, or those wishing to relax and unwind in the peace
and tranquility of Karoo simplicity.

To
experience the real feel of the farm, our self-contained comfortable
cottage, provides accommodation for six. Full of rustic charm, its thick,
uneven walls provide accommodation for up to six people but with no
concession to comfort. You are assured of privacy and a personal
relationship with the Karoo. You can participate in farm activities,
enjoy a dip in the farm reservoir, a genuine Karoo swimming pool! - or go
walking, bike riding or birding.
Guided
tours are offered to San and Khoi shelters on the farm where rock art
dating back to10 000 years ago can be viewed. After the walk you
return to the homestead where you can view a collection of Bushman
artefacts in the private museum. At Ganora we have a variety of fossils,
the average age being approximately 240 million years old. The majority
are of mammal-like-reptiles, although we do have other more recent finds
such as fossil fish.4x4 trails: There are two trails available. You can
choose between the easier 10 km trail or the slightly more difficult 35
km trail. Mountain Biking: The mountain biking trail follows the shorter
4x4 trail. If you want something more challenging there is a 35km trail
as well. Be warned that it classifies as a Black Route!! Walking Trails: A
lovely canyon walk is the ideal way to relieve your stress. Watch the
Eagles fly above you. To cool off you can swim in the Karoo pools
en-route. Picnic baskets are available on request with any of the above
options. Farm activities include quadbikes and flights on a microlight can
be arranged.
