The
Lodge is situated adjacent to the main complex with a sea and river mouth

Fort
D’ Acre Reserve is some 1200 ha’s of prime real - estate situated on
the western bank at the mouth of the Great Fish River. A network of roads
will take you through the valley bushveld and over the open plains where
more than 25 different species can be found, including Cape Buffalo and
White Rhino. The Game viewing vehicle can drop you off so one can walk
along the private beach and watch Whales and Dolphins play in the surf.
The Great Fish River has a length of 430 miles (692 km) and a drainage
area of 11,900 square miles (30,800 square km). Its main northern
tributary, the Great Brak River, rises in 7,000-foot- (2,100-metre-) high
mountains 30 miles (48 km) south of the Orange River and northeast of
Middelburg. The Tarka River, coming from the northeast and the Baviaans
from the east make this river perennial.
