A gate in the middle of nowhere, then a sandy track which leads into the fynbos. You will be stunned by the quality of natural silence that envelops you as you step from your car. You can hear the fynbos growing. Walks are lovely down through Fair Hill’s fynbos to the beach, which is hard to get to any other way and will most likely be deserted. Or you can sunbathe by the pool, protected from the wind in the lea of a natural cave.

The Stanford Walking Route (also known as the Wandelpad) meanders along with the Klein River through the town of Stanford. Fair Hill Private Nature Reserve offers one of the best positions on the South African whale route for those who want to relax whilst keeping a lookout for the next appearance of those graceful giants of the sea. Southern Right whales visit our coast form August to December to calf and are a major highlight on every Cape itinerary! Excellent whale watching charters are offered by a select group of permit holders who adhere to a strict code of conduct, ensuring the conservation of whales and other marine life. Great White Shark cage diving is certainly not for the faint hearted, but sharks can be viewed from the surface as well.
