Cranberry Cottage - Accommodation in Ladybrand, Free State is a charming new guest house situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State town of Ladybrand. Built during the early part of this century out of hand hewn blocks, this quaint little Victorian Style home has been lovingly restored. It is an ideal stop over point for weary travellers on the Highland Route, this being a safe and scenic route through the Eastern Free State bordering Lesotho. It is also an ideal base from which to explore the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.

The bedrooms are individually decorated with antique style furniture and with fireplaces and offer the more modern conveniences. The en suite bathrooms have old-fashioned ball and claw baths. The thatched garden cottage overlooks a small duck pond and offers the option of self catering. During the summer months breakfasts are served on the patio under the grapevines and in winter, in the cosy dining room beside a log fire.

Cranberry has a wonderful rambling garden with tall trees and tranquil spots to sit and contemplate, read, listen to the bird song , watch the resident family of ducks, or play a game of chess. The swimming pool is a favourite spot during the hot summer months. Visitors can stroll through the town and the nearby forest or climb the ridge for a splendid view of the area. There are world renowned Bushmen paintings in the area as well as sites of historical importance that can be visited. Horse riding, hikes or leisurely picnics are also options for the guests.
