you turned off the beaten track into a cul-de-sac! Here you
are surrounded by nature reserve mountainous wilderness on all
sides. When you go for a hike amongst the stillness, silence and
crystal-clear mountain pools you won’t bump into another human
soul for miles. You are truly ‘out there’. On the numerous trails
your rewards are bushman paintings in caves, beautiful kloofs and
waterfalls, and then a relaxing home to come back to and a swim in
the enormous, round, spring-water swimming pool. Linden and Jeanne
make this an exceptionally special place with their warmth,
calmness and enthusiasm for their piece of paradise.Her fourteen
years as a practising aroma- and massage therapist is manifested
in a magical touch and the treatment was heavenly – be gone tense
driving forearms!

Come
evening, you sit under the stars watching
Linden turning the organic lamb ribs on the braai and then partook of
a finger meal of roasted home-grown vegetables and walnut bread from
yonder tree. The Cedars is simply delicious whichever way you look at
it. The guest-house also run a variety of workshops: 6-day body work
retreat; exploring how art therapy assists psychological healing
processes; indigenous medicinal plant education; skills and methods of
bushman rock art paintings.
The
whole of the Baviaanskloof is well known for its bushmen heritage, and
the area has many rich sites. The farm has more
caves and shelters.If your idea of a good
holiday is doing nothing by the pool, then what better way to enjoy
lazy days than to be surrounded by rugged Mountains.The
dirt roads and rugged pathways on the farm offer a variety of
opportunities for mountain bikers of different levels of experience
and skills.For those interested in more serious
hiking, the farm is bordered on three sides by nature conservation
wilderness area, with many days worth wondering.
