Seven
elegant decorated rooms all en suite with either bath or shower.
Each Room is equipped with double or single beds, air-conditioning, TV
with M Net, coffee / tea making facilities and telephone. Tea Garden open
seven days a week from early morning until 9:30pm with scrumptious
home-made delights readily available from menu. Light lunches, formal
three course dinners and private functions will be catered for on
request.
They
are centrally situated and walking distance from most of Kimberley's
historical homes and monuments as well as the city business centre,
shopping malls, art gallery, theatre, private hospitals and restaurants.
Tours of Kimberley, De Beers Mine (above & underground),
and the battlefields can be arranged with a specialist tour guide.
Transfers from the airport to the guest house are also available. The Big Hole itself is an astonishing sight. Mined to a depth
of 215 metres, and with a surface area of about 17 hectares and a
perimeter of about 1,6 km, it is the largest hand-dug excavation in the
world. On 14 August 1914 work on the mine was suspended. By that time
22,5 million tons of earth had been excavated, yielding 2 722 kilograms
of diamonds.
