Canefields
Country House is set in the rollings hills of a sugar cane estate, 5km
north of Empangeni on the N2 National Route, in the heart of Zululand. We
offer traditional old-fashioned hospitality and personal service. The
main building houses six double en-suite rooms each with their own
furnishings and character. In addition to this our garden cottages
maintain this unique feature, offering homely comforts in a relaxing,
private atmosphere. We offer TV in all our rooms and cottages, fully
air-conditioned facilities, sparkling swimming pool, bed and breakfast
rates.

All
our standard double or twin rooms and cottages offer en-suite bathrooms
with bath or shower.
Rooms are also fully air-conditioned with satellite TV, telephones,
tea/coffee making facilities, towels and linen provided.
We
also offer a variety of traditional dishes in "The Cane
Cutters" A-La-Carte restaurant and "The Mill & Rail
Tavern", our ladies bar offers light lunches in a relaxing
atmosphere. Wedding ceremonies can be held on our terrace or in our
function hall which can accommodate up to 400 guests banqueting style,
which includes a dancefloor. The tranquility of our surroundings also
provides for stress free, productive conferences or corporate
getaways. Our recently established "Bushveld Boma" is also a
unique feature offering a traditional bonfire and open fire fare. Just one hour away from
Canefields Country House are the Umfolozi and Hluhluwe Reserves, the oldest proclaimed Game
Reserves in South Africa. Dive the coral reefs of Sodwana in Maputaland
and experience a magical underwater world teeming with vividly coloured
tropical fish, turtles, corals and whale sharks. Expanses of golden
beaches and the warm Indian Ocean provide one with ample opportunity to
fish, snorkel and enjoy the variety of water sports which are available.
Visit the remarkable Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park - a World Heritage
Site - or experience the tranquillity of Lake Sibaya, the largest
freshwater lake in South Africa. Crocodiles inhabit the lake, so one
should always be on the lookout!.
