 This
elegant, photogenic Victorian Manor House built over a hundred years ago
by the Jardines, wealthy Scottish immigrants, was designed by the
architect Stott and nestles in the foothills of the Southern
Drakensberg mountains, 33kms from Howick, on the Underberg road outside Boston. The
main house boasts 5 non-smoking impressive theme suites, elegant Drawing
room and Dining room, a beautiful Hallway and a charming Staircase, a
plethora of stained glass, guest facilities, an unusual bar and T.V.
lounge and wrap around top and bottom balconies. An atrium leads to a
draped, chandeliered Function Centre seating 150, which overlooks a dance
floor and an ornamental pool which is adjacent to a thatched, stained
glass chapel seating 120. There are a further 16 en-suite rooms with a
salon and the whole is surrounded by beautiful gardens with gazebo and
ornamental fountain, tarred roads, dams and forests.

 The
Manor House has five large en-suite bedrooms. These are our most popular
rooms and each is exquisitely decorated. The modifications to the stables
and dairy have resulted in a further 16 rooms being added. These may be
more suitable for larger groups or family getaways, being located a
little further from the Manor House. All rooms boast TV and tea/coffee
facilities.

We are part of the Midlands Meander and Boston
Bulwer Beat with
fishing, trails, walks and golfing, paragliding and horse riding
nearby. Calderwood Hall has a a large, draped, and chandeliered
function centre and a charming thatched, stained glass chapel which
can seat 120 guests. CHC Catering, a sister company with an incredibly
strong reputation for quality catering and function management and
coordination, will be undertaking the catering for all the weddings
and functions. With more than twenty years of experience, can look
forward to tasty food and a quiet, no fuss, management style. The
function venue is ideal for that fairy-tale wedding, a country break
away or that out-of-town business conference. There are many
photogenic aspects of the garden with the Manor House as a backdrop,
which delight the photographers who attend weddings and functions.
