Bayala lodge is actually two lodges in one - two main reception areas servicing 24 rooms each. This ensures that there is always personal service, lots of space, privacy and peace and quiet. All rooms are equipped with en-suite showers with hot and cold running water, maid service, and good home cooking, including many traditional South African and succulent venison dishes. Come and be spoiled. Catering or self catering. All in all, this is an experience not to be missed.

Take in a game drive or night game drive, as you may prefer, to view giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, nyala and many other species of game on our private game-drive vehicles. Or go on a game trail either on foot or on horseback, and for nature lovers why not meander through one of the wilderness trails. Bayala Lodge has a 40-seater restaurant, where delicious buffet dinners and breakfasts are served. Evening boma braais are also available on request. Our succulent home cooked dinners include three course traditional South African and venison dishes.

Bayala is centrally situated and is within easy reach of Lake St Lucia, Sodwana Bay, Hluhluwe, Umfolozi and Mkuze Game Reserves as well as the lesser known but equally rewarding Tembe Elephant Park, Ndumu Game Reserve, Ithala, Pongola and Kosi Bay. Bayala Game Lodge also offers private game drives into nearby Hluhluwe, Umfolozi and Mkuze game reserves in our own game drive vehicles.

Boat Cruises: (Another new activity in the region) Let us organize a boat cruise with a difference for you. Explore the recently proclaimed World Heritage Site St Lucia Wetlands lake system by guided boat tours, from nearby Charters Creek or from St. Lucia village, a little further south.
