Nestled in the North West Province, this area was proclaimed as a National Park in 1979, covering an area of 55 000ha. It has been restocked with most of the species that inhabited the area in the late eighteenth century including the majestic "Big Five". One of the most advantageous aspects of Pilanesberg is that it is situated within a malaria- free belt.

It offers air conditioning, a private patio and braai area and a central playground. Chalets sleep a maximum of 5 people. Centrally located with the resort is a pool and playground. The 5 executive safari tents are exclusive to Bakgatla Resort. The tents are set on a wooden deck, with patio area looking onto the bush, fully electrified and has 2 x 3/4 beds, a sleeper couch, a small bar fridge and an exclusive bathroom area. The Safari Tent sleeps 2 Adults plus 2 children maximum.
