Enjoy a boat cruise on Lake St. Lucia and see hippos, crocodile, fish eagles and much more. During the cruise you will experience the  mangroove forest which is unique for this part of Africa. The Great St. Lucia Wetland Park is located only a few hundred meters from Avalone Guesthouse. This park is home to game species like buffalo, elephant, rhino, leopard and many different species of antelopes. If you wish to visit bigger parks, there is two very abundant parks in the area, just 3/4 of an hours drive from St. Lucia. Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Park, is home to the "Big Five": buffalo, rhino, elephant, lion and leopard. Furthermore this park has a very great number of the rare Black Rhino. You can also see zebras and many different species of antelopes
