Augusta de Mist Country House - Accommodation in
Swellendam, Western Cape, South Africa
Augusta
de Mist Country House - Accommodation in Swellendam,
Western Cape
is one of the few remaining beauties of its era in Swellendam. Built
about 50 years after the founding of the town, the building has changed
little in over two hundred years. A National Monument, the building
exudes the pioneering spirit of the early Dutch settlers. The building
has all the modern comforts, yet retains the ambiance of classic simplicity.
The house stands in a large private garden, 50 metres away from the
owner's home, with much bird life, many butterflies and shy chameleons
to be seen. The atmosphere of both building and garden is tranquil and
relaxing. There is an inviting saltwater swimming pool, set away from
the house for privacy and maximum sunshine.
