Cape is an 1860 homestead in the historic centre of the historic
French Huguenot village, of Franschhoek, surrounded by soaring mountains.
The guest house and en suite bedrooms are warmly furnished with antiques,
complemented by English country style decor. Auberge Bligny has 8 en-suite
bedrooms with private entrances. There is a romantic honeymoon suite,
family suites with interleading doors and a room equipped for disabled
guests.

A
country breakfast is served - in summer on the terrace overlooking the
pool and the mountains for which the village is famous. Excellent restaurants
are within seven minutes walk from the guest house. Alternatively one
could stroll to a wine farm for some wine, and on the way back stop
at the fromagerie for cheese and bread to enjoy at Auberge Bligny -
the kitchen, dining room and pool area are always at the disposal of
guests. Jack, a descendant from the French Huguenots (who first settled
in the valley) invites you to use his charming guest house as a base
from which to explore the Winelands
and much of the Western Cape.
Franschhoek offers the
tourist breath-taking scenery and warm hospitality, world class cuisine
and the finest selection of wines. This is a valley rich in history with
spectacular vineyards covering the mountain slopes settled 300 years ago
by the Huguenots who brought with them their age-old French wine and food
culture. Within the village you can discover the wonderful craft, art
& antique shops and galleries or indulge yourself at the Chocolate
Factory Shop. Huguenot Street is also lined with a variety of restaurants
and coffee shops and has the famous monument and museum to visit as well.
Golf is also an option at the various spectacular courses nearby your
hosts will gladly assist with your reservations. There is hiking,
climbing, fishing, heritage & flora tours, paragliding, tennis,
helicopter rides, cycling, bowls, picnics, vineyard tours and cellar
tours, wine tasting and cheese tasting.
