is a peaceful retreat situated in the scenic Champagne Valley in the
Central
Drakensberg. You will enjoy stunning views of the majestic Champagne
Castle (second highest peak in South
Africa at 3377m) and Cathkin
Peak mountains which are both situated in South Africa's latest
World Heritage Site. Ardmore has it's own "Amangwe Craft Centre"
which exhibits only Kwa-Zulu
Natal craft, which ranges from traditional Zulu
beadwork to sheepskin slippers to basket work.

Ardmore
provides cosy farm style accommodation, with a dinner, bed and breakfast
service, all rooms are en suite with tea/coffee making facilities, and
many have cosy fireplaces. Guests stay in either one of the 2 rooms in
the guest house or individually styled en suite rondavels , or they also
have a cottage for families or groups ( min 3 persons) Sealy Posturepedic
beds, pure cotton sheets, heated bathrooms, oil heaters in all rooms, log
fires and a full-time chef are all part of the "Ardmore" scene.
Your hosts are the owners Paul and Sue Ross, who stay in a separate
dwelling. Wake up to a traditional farmhouse breakfast served on the
verandah overlooking Ardmore's lovely garden. Lunch, snacks and drinks
can be ordered in the tea garden. Later on join your hosts and other
guests for a lantern-lit four-course meal with complimentary wine, served
in the Yellowwood dining room
Activities
in the valley include horse riding, mountain biking (bikes are available
for guests at no extra charge), two golf courses, tennis, hiking, birding,
trout and bass fishing (bass rods are available for guests use). You
can also enjoy swimming in the swimming pool. Places of interest in
the area are Anglo/Boer
War battlefields, game reserves, a herb farm and arts and craft
centres along the Mountain Meander route, most places are just a short
drive from the farm.
