comfortable beds with luxurious cotton percale linen, after a fragrant
bubble bath or a refreshing shower, a good night's rest is guaranteed. In
the morning a delicious full English or Continental breakfast "fit
for a King" is served on the patio or in the beautifully furnished
dining room.
Day Safari Tours. Pilanesberg
National Park: The most accessible of the major South African reserves,
the Pilanesberg
is located just one and a half hours drive north-west of Johannesburg
and Pretoria. This unusual reserve, which is the fourth largest national
park in South Africa, is set high in the Pilanesberg range, traversing
the floor of an ancient and now long extinct volcano, providing a number
of interesting habitats for the varied fauna and flora of the park.
Amongst a wide variety of mammals Pilanesberg offers the visitor the
Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo). Mankwe Dam
situated in the centre of the reserve is a gathering point for many
of the animals, providing excellent photo opportunities. De Wildt Cheetah
Breeding Centre, Rhino and Lion Park, Elephant Sanctuary, Rietvallei
Nature Reserve. Groenkloof Nature Reserve, Austen Roberts Bird Sanctuary.
Tours can be arranged to various nature reserves, game parks.
