Summer hues, fragrant scents and the dry, hot Karoo air provide an intoxicating backdrop for the clear turquoise waters of our salt-water swimming pool, tucked away in a tranquil corner of the homestead’s garden, and featuring a friendly pool bar. Leisurely walks around the scenic grounds of Altes Landhaus provide many an opportunity to admire the indigenous bird life, or the farm’s own ostriches. The idyllic charms of the Garden Route – sandy beaches, leafy forests, golfing greens and scenic mountain passes – provide a diverse choice of exciting day outings. A relaxing day concludes with sunset drinks on the African patio, as dusk folds its colourful wings around another varied and enjoyable day.
