African Game Lodge is set within the mountains and valleys of the Klein Karoo and only 2½ hours drive from Cape Town where one can enjoy a truly African adventure with an amazing climate and in a malaria-free zone of Southern Africa. The area that surrounds the Lodge expands for 4,500 hectares and during your stay you will have the opportunity to venture through some of this tranquil landscape. As you participate in our nature drives you could encounter various antelope such as Red hartebeest, Black wildebeest, Springbok, Blue wildebeest, Bontebok, Gemsbok/Oryx, Klipspringer and Duiker as well as a variety of birds. African Game Lodge’s pride and joy is it’s Cheetah Conservation Programme. Here you are able to spend time watching them play, feeding and even interacting with guests. When it gets too hot, take a break and have a dip in our swimming pool whilst looking out onto the mountain range.

The Lodge is made up of six exclusive chalets which have been designed to meet all your requirements. Each chalet consists of a lounge with a fireplace for those cosy winter evenings, an outside porch to watch the passing wildlife and enjoy the vast landscapes, two bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with two ¾ beds) and a bathroom with bath and shower facilities.

Nature Drives. Come and enjoy a exhilerating drive through the natural surroundings whilst viewing the wildlife that inhabits the land. Walks. Whether you are an adventurous hiker or a social stroller, you will be able to see encounter the smaller aspects of nature. Horse Riding. Be guided through the brush landscape on our trained horses, along with an experienced horse riding guide. Rock Art. View the ancient artwork of the long lost native Khoi San people. Mountain Biking. For the more energetic, take an independant ride on selected trails and experience the land for yourself. Star Gazing. Marvel over the immence grandeur of the most spectacular night sky, only seen in its true magnificence, uneffected by the hub of city lights. Fishing. Catch your own fish and we will gladly cook it for you at our braai area. Bird Watching. Some of the most extraordinary and rarest bird life, only found in the Little Karoo area.
