Villiersdorp is situated in the Cape Winelands near to Franc

Villiersdorp is situated in the Cape Winelands near to Franchhoek in the Western Cape. A bridge carries the road across the narrow middle of the scenically beautiful Theewaterskloof Dam, where in winter, the surrounding mountain peaks are often snow capped. The nature reserve on the outskirts of Villiersdorp gives a wonderful display of 60 species of protea including the giant King Protea with blooms almost half a metre across. The mountain pass leading to Villiersdorp is stunning whilst the valleys are full of fruit farms where trees sag under the weight of luscious soft fruits.
