Salt Rock is situated on the KwaZulu Natal North Coast just north of Durban. Salt Rock is famous for its beaches and relaxing atmosphere. The tranquil seaside village of Salt Rock is situated on a particularly rugged section of the coastline and is very popular with fishermen and those in search of a peaceful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger resorts. The resort town was named after the custom of the Zulu maidens to collect salt from the rock pools in the area. The Salt Rock Country Club offers a variety of excellent sporting facilities, including tennis courts, a swimming pool and bowling greens. The main beach has lifeguards and a massive tidal pool. The beach provides some excellent fishing spots and there are beautiful reefs offshore, giving divers hours of enjoyment. Salt Rock boasts a splendid caravan park only s stone’s throw from the beach.
